We are our own story and we are what we are. We can never be the same as each other and why would we wont to be. Yes we need those people who are balanced to bring calmness to the world but equally we need the all or nothing people to bring there energy or stillness. Mix us all together and we all make a fab team.

I reckon balance much like perfection is a mythical driver that we all seek but that perhaps doesn’t really exist? I like Monday’s for the newsletter too — Monday’s are a ‘meh’ day and your words will be like sunshine on a grey day. 🙌x

I love this. I am also an all or nothing person. Currently in enforced lie down mode at my daughters house, where we are babysitting our two year old grandson. The ‘all’ side decided the ideal thing to do while my daughter is away for five days was to ‘Stacey Solomon’ her house. I stepped on a toy garage, which slid across the vinyl floor taking me with it. My knee is a balloon and I literally can’t walk. So am now trying to do nothing - we’ll see how that goes…..

I’d argue that your publication pivot is a great example of balance. I love this newsletter because, well, in the world of wellness and balance it’s entirely possible to feel you’ve failed if you miss a meditation practice or Pilates class. And that’s when the tail begins to wag the dog. A life of extremes sounds like a life well lived 🙌🥳

But this line was perhaps the most revelatory for me “wearing a nightie I bought from Primark 11 years ago”.

I don’t think I’ve known an item of anything from Primark with a life span beyond a few months. So, you’re winning 🏆

I'm also an '8 or 80' kind of person, but I must say I was amazed to read you were going to run TWO marathons in such a short space of time, with a long walk in between them, when even professional athletes space them out much more than that... Maybe I'm being simplistic, but I feel it's just a case of tacitly knowing that our bodies can only take so much physical effort... So am not sure going for it fits in the 'balance' category in the same way of the emotional roller coaster we're prone to have...

Love this! I think I can be an all gas (quite literally 💨 sometimes) or nothing, or both, person… Or a do everything at once or nothing mode 😆

Balance is such a fascinating thing as it can apply to many facets of our lives. My therapist encourages me to try and find balance, but that's between my extremes of emotion - which is frankly exhausting - so trying to find some balance of crisis/not crisis could be helpful. BUT at the same time - fuck em! Ha, no really at the same time, well actually yes - fuck em, all or nothing doesn't have to be so bad and if I can learn to regulate my emotions then I can also learn that in other things all or nothing is actually pretty bloody good! Great Dazzle and fortnightly sounds very balanced to me ;-)
